Kyle Wellman is a Service Engineer at Toric Engineering. He will focus on Service work, PLC programming, SCADA design / programming, electrical drawings, and panel layout.  Kyle joined the Toric team in December of ’24.

He has received his associates degree for Industrial Electrical and Automation. He also went on to receive certifications for Industrial Electricity, Motor and Motor Controls, Fluid Power, Industrial Relay Controls, Programmable Logic Control, Automation Systems, Robotics, Machining, Welding, NFPA 70e, Arc Flash Safety, Python Programming, and specialty certifications from Buhler Prince for Mechanical and Hydraulic circuits for Die Casting Equipment. Kyle has worked as a controls engineer for the past 5+ years.

Outside of work Kyle is a proud father. Has two sons, Milo and Jacen, and a daughter, Ava. He is also engaged to his fiancé Jessica. Together they also have a German Shephard / walker mix named Meekah and a house in Redkey, IN.

Kyle has several hobbies. He’s built his own hobby machine shop at his house as I love to design and build his own machinery, equipment, tools, etc. He is currently trying to make my own 3D printer using Linear Motors like the Peopoly Magneto X 3D printer uses. He has been playing drums and percussion instruments since he was 8, giving him 27 years of experience. Kyle loves space and cosmology, anything related to science and physics, and is an avid fan of Japanese anime, and ancient mythology.

When asked why he became an engineer he said, “I became a controls engineer as it really bridged the gap between two areas I loved, programming and computers, and building and automating machines. I originally went to Ball State University for Computer Programming, but after an internship at a local business, I realized I would not be fully happy only doing that. I started my career towards engineering, and through work found the “controls” side of maintenance, and the rest is history as they say.”
